“Ever since Happiness heard your name, it has been running through the streets trying to find you.”

- Hafez, 14th century poet

Hi, I’m Sue :)

I believe that our happiness is determined less by our external environment and more by our inner world. My passion for psychology stems from a desire to help others find happiness through better understanding and developing agency over their own minds. I completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Athabasca University and a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. I am currently a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.

My unique methodology integrates cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and mindfulness with a collaborative, skills-based, and empowering approach. I also draw from my personal experiences with chronic illness and injury as well as teaching yoga, volunteering internationally, and practicing meditation.

I connect with my clients through warmth, humour, empathy, acceptance, and an excitement for personal growth. Clients of all ethnicities, cultures, religions, genders, sexual orientations, and walks of life are welcome. In addition to chronic illness, injury, and pain, my clinical interests include anxiety, depression, trauma, and self-improvement.

My goal is to support and guide you as you develop the necessary skills to increase your sense of control over your mind so that you can more fully enjoy your life. If you’d like to connect, then contact me using the form below or email me at sue@suebedfordpsychotherapy.com to book a free consultation. I’m keen to meet you!
